More Clooneyphobia On FOX

Reported by Deborah - March 4, 2006

Everyone on FNC seems extremely anxious this year about the Academy Awards and the prospect of George Clooney winning an Oscar. Mort Kondracke and Tony Snow, in for Barnes, had the obligatory Oscar chat today during the Beltway Boys. 2/4/06

Kondracke declared that Left-Wing political movies dominate the Oscar nominations this year adding, "There's nothing fair and balanced about Hollywood". After giving his rather limited synopsis of Syriana, he proclaimed.
"If George Clooney wins, there's no hope for Hollywood!"

Tony Snow gave a loyal FOX approved response. "After awhile moviegoers are going to say, who needs these guys?"

comment: The film that really scares the righteous right is Clooney's, Goodnight and Good Luck. They don't want Americans applauding Murrows efforts to fight McCarthyism. They prefer to pretend that McCarthy was really a good guy fighting the evil threat of Communism. No doubt, the thread on this post will be filled with the shrieks of the young Ann Coulter worshippers cutting and pasting her nasty quips and theories about poor maligned McCarthy.

The lesson learned during the McCarthy era has unfortunately been forgotten and George Clooney had the courage to remind us that a free press is essential to a thriving Democracy. The fact that Clooney's film was nominated sends a clear message and FOX News doesn't like it one bit.
