John Gibson Back In The Fold Again
Reported by Deborah - February 27, 2006
Last week John Gibson was adamantly against the Dubai deal offering viewers three My Word commentaries on the issue. However, today on Big Story, Gibson changed his tune jumping on the new GOP talking point that Democrats are opportunists using the issue to get to the right of the President. 2/27/06
On Friday,2/24, Gibsons commentary was headlined, U.S. Ports Should Be Off Limits To Foreign Companies. Although he was feeling the heat from critics on Friday, he stood firm.
Today Gibson started the flip flop process while interviewing Senator Robert Menendez. Gibson told the Senator that a lot of people are claiming that Democratic opposition is opportunistic and not based on rational concerns asking "What's the real danger?" He acted as if all his comments last week had vanished from the public record.
Then Gibson gave his My Word commentary headlined One Insult Too Many which opened with this statement
"Supporters of the president — and generally speaking, I am one — have upped the ante in the name-calling game over the Dubai Ports World deal to take over six American ports. "
A little deeper into his comments, the real reason for his flip-flop became obvious.
"So now the supporters of the deal are calling you the worst name of all: Democrats. If you oppose the deal you are an opportunistic Democrat."
comment: Since Gibson had just finished suggesting that Senator Menendez was a Democrat opportunist, he is once again back in the warm and fuzzy arms of FNC. It's all about making good choices in Republican World.
