Bill O'Reilly: Culture Warrior On Smear Patrol

Reported by Deborah - February 1, 2006

Bill O'Reilly, self proclaimed "culture warrior" proclaimed the Atlanta Journal-Constitution to be one of the " media operations that traffics in defamation" earning a position on his boycott list posted on his website. A graphic of a police badge with "Smear Patrol" printed beneath it added a special touch to the proceedings.

O'Reilly doesn't use the word boycott but instead calls it his "don't buy-don't advertise list". Tonight not only did he name the publisher, editor and editorial director, he ran their photos above their names in case any fanatical fans might need to recognize them. Here's what he said about the newspaper which in no way should be considered a "smear".

Under the leadership of publisher John Mellott, editor Julia Wallace and editorial director Cynthia Tucker, the paper has become a far-left publication that slants news coverage and engages in defamation. As a result, the newspaper's circulation is in a free-fall--only the San Francisco Chronicle has steeper declines.

So, we urge fair-minded Georgians--and that's about 90% of you--to avoid the Atlanta Journal-Constitution until the Cox Company makes some changes, which it will have to do... sooner or later.

O'Reilly didn't bother to tell his viewers what the Atlanta Journal-Consitution had written to deserve this distinction. Bill O'Reilly trusts that his followers will accept his proclamation without question. If you're thinking that O'Reilly seems to be smearing the accused smearers, you're definitely a "kool-aid drinker" and getting all your facts from those "far left websites".
