B Boys Mumble and Grumble Anxiously

Reported by Deborah - January 28, 2006

Mort Kondracke, Beltway Boys Democrat?, seemed a bit anxious about how Bush is doing on the eve of the State Of The Union speech this week saying that Bush is "not in great shape." When Barnes cheered him up with a delusional take on the President's performance, Kondracke revealed that he was being "pessimistic". If Kondracke is a Democrat, why is he so concerned about Bush getting a good report card? 1/28/06

Kondracke claiming there is "bitter division" between parties said that Democrats think" they can investigate alleged wrong doings" among Republicans adding that impeachment is being considered. Then he went over dismal poll numbers showing Bush with a 41% approval rating. This number probably came from the Fox Opinion poll.

Barnes seemed almost shocked and quickly laughed indulgently at his gloomy friend. He claimed that Bush is in much better shape after a bad week or two." He's begun a recovery." Claiming that Bush had achievements to show, he could only name one which was moving the Supreme Court to the right. He went on to call critics of the NSA wiretapping hypocrites claiming that Bush made necessary decisions and the American people agree with him.
As if that wasn't more than enough, Barnes blamed Democrats for the lack of accomplishments in the Bush administration claiming they are "reactionary".

After giving Alito an up arrow, The Boys went after John Kerry announcing with complete certainty that the filibuster will fail. Kondracke did the now tiresome routine about Kerry phoning in from Davos, Switzerland asking Barnes if he had ever been to the resort. There was no mention that Kerry was attending an Economic Summit with some Republican Senators in attendance too. Funny how Kondracke and Gibson both forgot to mention that Kerry was attending a Summit Meeting held at the Swiss resort.
