Al Gore's Speech Dismissed As "Just Crazy"

Reported by Deborah - January 21, 2006

Barnes and Kondracke, as expected, went after Al Gore today on Beltway Boys giving him a down arrow for his speech about Bush's unauthorized wiretapping. Barnes said about Gore, "He's officially lost it." Then The Boys turned on their trademark spin style consisting of speedy chatter, dismissive chuckles and confusing interpretation.

Barnes was sure to link Al Gore with Moveon giving the impression without saying it that the organization sponsored this speech in order to establish it as an exclusively progressive event. The speech was actually co-sponsored by the American Constitution Society and the Liberty Coalition and held in the Daughters Of The American Revolution Hall which is not exactly a politically progressive venue. Also ignored was Bob Barr's endorsement of the speech and the fact that the audience was overflowing with both Republicans and Democrats.

Barnes chuckled, "This stuff is just crazy!" Kondracke then claimed that Gore wanted to take away the NSA ability to wiretap. Sounding amazed he added that Gore wants to prosecute Bush "implying that he ought to impeached." Kondracke went on to say that Congress should find out if Bush broke any laws and if he did, Congress should just give him the authority he needs.

comment: In my opinion, The Beltway Boys are the ones spewing crazy stuff.
