You called it - the war on Easter has begun
Reported by Chrish - January 18, 2006
Looking at Bill Kristol's Weekly Standard website for something else, I came across an article declaring that gay people (gasp!) are planning to crash the annual White House Easter Egg Roll.
This could be very interesting. We know that people going to hear Bush speak have to sign statements of faith or loyalty or something - no dissidents allowed near His Thin-skinnedness - but now will they also have to sign statements of heterosexuality? Shouldn't "don't ask, don't tell" extend to government/public functions?
I know right-wingers are afraid that homosexuality is contagious and don't want their children to be exposed to the insubordinate idea that gay people are normal. They're already beside themselves that the cowboy love story has received so much positive attention. Where will it end?
I fully expect FOX to pick this story up - we're told in commercials all the time on FNC that the Weekly Standard is the must-read in Washington (though btw we're never told it is also a Murdoch holding; they like to keep their incest in the closet). With it we can be distracted from the imminent invasion of another country rich in oil and focus on what really matters, colorfully dressed parents and children frollicking on an immaculate lawn seeking treats and sweets. What could be gayer? Stay tuned.
