Tom Daschle Now On The List Of Democrats To Attack
Reported by Deborah - December 23, 2005
Tom Daschle stated today in the Washington Post that Congress did not give the White House authority to wiretap as they have recently claimed. John Gibson had Kelly Ann Conway and Bob Beckel on to debate the issue but Conway sidestepped the issue by attacking Daschle and hailing the Bush rising poll numbers. 12/23/05
Conway was quick to say that Daschle's statement was untrue and then immediately launched into her little attack claiming that Daschle lost the majority and lost his seat because he was out of touch with the American people. (There was no mention of the dirty GOP smear campaign in Daschle's home state to bring him down )
Beckel responded that this is a clear violation of the law and it's up to Bush to be straight with us. Beckel emphasized the importance of this issue and it's impact on our Constitutional rights.
Conway unable to deal with the facts jumped on some poll numbers claiming that Bush is up to 50% approval which indicates the people are on his side. She said the polls were rising because people were seeing images of Democracy in Iraq instead of body bags. Conway motor mouthed non stop eating into Beckel's time until Gibson finally gave him a chance.
Beckel reminded Conway that the 50% number came out the day before the wiretapping story broke. As he was beginning to bring out some important facts concerning Daschle's statement, Gibson ended the segment.
comment: The attack dogs at Conservative Voice smell some fresh meat for their "Unpatriotic Democrats" list. Daschle should wear these attacks as a badge of honor.
