Religious Intolerance Abounds on Dayside
Reported by Janie - December 23, 2005
Yesterday (12/22) on Dayside, hosts Juliet Huddy and Mike Jerrick held a brief discussion on recent movies such as "Munich" and "Syrianna". They invited radio host Michael Medved (whom they introduced as a "nationally syndicated radio-host", without mentioning his staunch Conservative ties) on to the show to discuss how these movies are portraying terrorists in a sympathetic light.
During the segment, Medved stated: "Someone who straps dynamite to his body, expecting to end up in a big whore house in the sky with 72 virgins in return for killing women and children, that somebody like that is evil."
To which Huddy responded: "Never quite heard that description, but it's a good one."
Comment: While I agree with the premise that terrorists that blow up women and children are evil, such a religious slur is completely unnecessary, and shows just what this conservative and the hosts of Dayside feel about the Muslim religion. In light of the revelation of Fox's ties to White Supremacists, does such religious slurs come as much of a surprise?
