"Outfoxed" airing in UK on Boxing Day
Reported by Chrish - December 23, 2005
Just a heads up to our UK readers that Robert Greenwald's "Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism" will be aired on Boxing Day (December 26) on digital channel ITV4 at about 11pm.
If you can't watch it there, you can buy a DVD at the website, or better yet for $5 more get both "Outfoxed" and "WalMart: The High Cost of Low Price" by clicking the link on the top right of this page.
For newcomers wondering why we promote these movies:
Seven of the current nine NewsHounds - Deborah, Ellen, Judy, Melanie, Nancy, Marie, and myself, plus Eleanor (who left us in October 2004), were the "first filter" for the clips you'll see in the documentary. We watched assigned shows, alert for examples of bias and unfairness, partisanship and rudeness etc., and sent our findings to director Robert Greenwald via email. We had conference calls with him and his staff, including the fantastic Jim Gilliam (producer of "Walmart: The High Cost of Low Price), to discuss our feelings and observations from our "Fox-watching".
When the monitoring was ended and the movie was being edited, we monitors wanted to keep in touch and began a private email loop, including Jim. After a while he suggested we create a blog, where we could continue to document the agenda at FOX "News". He had to explain us what a blog was, and helped us put News Hounds together. He remains our "blogfather", doing the technical work and giving us advice. We wouldn't be here without him or Robert, so they have our eternal gratitude and support.
Thanks to g-mailer Jonathan for the heads up on the UK airing.
