Bill O'Reilly - War on Christmas Liar?
Reported by Janie - December 13, 2005
Recently, on the Radio Factor, Bill O'Reilly continued his "War on Christmas" (TM) by claiming: "In Saginaw , Michigan , the township opposes red and green clothing…on anyone, In Saginaw Township they basically said anybody, we don’t want you wearing red or green. I would dress up from head to toe in red to green if I were in Saginaw Michigan .”
The problem? It's not true.
According to WNEM-5, a local television channel in Michigan, Saginaw Township supervisor Tim Braun said O'Reilly's comments were flat out not true. The local township hall is even decorated in red and green lights, according to Braun.
To date, O'Reilly has not commented nor issued a retraction.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time in the last week this has happened. Last Friday (12/9), O'Reilly claimed that a school in Texas told students they were not allowed to wear red and green because they were Christmas colors, even referring to the move as "flat-out fascism". The problem with this claim is that it is also not true.
Comment: So, is O'Reilly getting "bad intelligence" and not looking into his wild claims, or has he sunken to the level of simply making things up? We report - YOU decide!
