Fox Blames Rising Oil Costs On Fire In England

Reported by Donna - December 12, 2005

Today on Studio B with Shepard Smith there was a segment on the British Oil Depot that caught fire yesterday. Fox took this opportunity to say that this is why oil prices went up dramatically to over $60 a barrel today.

As an aside Smith also blamed the northeast United States as another reason for the rise. He stated that fuel usage for heat will be up 13% next week in the northeast. He finished the segment by saying that it looked like sky high oil prices were here to stay.

Comment: Didn't we just go through this with Hurricane Katrina being blamed for high oil prices? Didn't Congress then have the heads of the oil companies testify as to the record profits they were making? Some things will never change.
