Hannity Gets His Facts Wrong Again. Why Is The Truth Under Siege At FOX News?
Reported by Ellen - November 30, 2005
What's worse? One Lowe's store selling "holiday trees" or a national news host who can't get his facts straight? Obviously, on FOX News, it's the former.
Last night, on Hannity & Colmes, Sean Hannity said this to Senator John Ensign, R-NV, about Harry Reid, the Democratic Senator from Nevada: "I wish Harry Reid would learn from your model and maybe he won't call the President of the United States a loser while he's in front of schoolchildren and then not apologize officially for it. I think it's very disappointing for a leader to do that, Senator."
But Reid DID apologize, officially as well as personally. According to an AP report on CBS News,
Shortly after the event Reid called the White House to apologize, his spokeswoman Tessa Hafen said. Reid spoke with Bush adviser Karl Rove, asking him to convey the apology to Bush, who was traveling in Europe. The Nevada Democrat expressed "regret for the comments, that it was inappropriate," Hafen said.
A sampling of Hannity's other falsehoods:
He said Rep. Murtha called for an "immediate redeployment"
He got the facts wrong about ANWR.
He distorted the record of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
