FOX Flip Flops On Global Warming

Reported by Deborah - November 10, 2005

Are the winds shifting ever so slightly to the left on FNC ? How else to explain the sudden flip flopping on Fox on the subject of global warming an issue that has been either ignored, ridiculed or contested rigorously by the network. On Sunday, 11/13/05, FOX News will air a special,The Heat Is On: A Case For Global Warming with Rick Folbaum. That would be unusual enough but the addition of Robert F Kennedy and Laurie David, Progressive Democrat and environmental activist, in this Special Report makes it downright strange.

During this horrific hurricane season Fox refused to explore the possibility that global warming could be playing a role in the frequency and severity of the storms. Joe Bastardi, Fox weather guru, could be seen daily selling the theory that it was all happening because of cycles and the issue of global warming was conspicuously absent from his earnest dialogue. During this same period, John Gibson did a commentary ridiculing the theory and connecting it to his favorite enemy, the "Hollywood Elite".

FOX News has labeled environmentalists , eco-terrorists, tree huggers and left wing radicals. Sean Hannity savagely attacked Robert F Kennedy not even allowing him to discuss his highly respected theories on the environment on Hannity and Colmes. The Network has stood firmly behind this administration's disgraceful plundering of our air, water, and forests. So why the sudden change of heart?

comment; Is this a pragmatic move by the network acknowledging an issue that they can no longer ignore without damaging their credibility? Can it be recognition of a shifting majority that could hurt their ratings? With FOX, it's always about ratings making this another indication of a crumbling right wing's hold on the media.
