No Liberal Criticism Of Miers Allowed? Geraldine Ferraro Has Nothing But Praise On Hannity & Colmes

Reported by Ellen - October 8, 2005

Finally, Hannity & Colmes has a Democrat talk about the Harriet Miers nomination and what does she say? That the very qualified Miers is the victim of sexism from those disparaging her nomination.

Geraldine Ferraro, Fox News Political Analyst and former VP nominee, had nothing but praise for Miers last night (10/7/05). "What's this stuff she's unqualified simply because she wasn't a judge before? There is no qualification to be a (Supreme Court) judge... She has a record as a very good lawyer."

Ferraro discussed Miers' record in glowing terms, saying that she had to struggle, she was a partner in a lawfirm, "and I think she's terrific."

Colmes argued that there's no paper trail, that she's a stealth candidate and a crony, and wondered why the conservatives are objecting to her nomination because it's quite likely that Bush knows where she stands.

Ferraro complained that the Republicans are acting uncivil. "They have to remember that this is the president of the united states, elected, and it's his choice."

So, after a week of conservative-only guests discussing Miers, the only Democrat gives her seal of approval.

Nobody mentioned what I find the most frightening about Miers, that she will likely rubber stamp Bush's power grab for the executive branch of government. See my post earlier this week for more on that. Interestingly, I heard Alan Colmes voice similar concerns earlier tonight on his radio show. But somehow (call me psychic), I don't expect to hear him discuss it on Hannity & Colmes.
