It's a great time to be rich

Asked by John Gibson if it would be cheaper to heat your house this winter or fly to a warmer climate, FOX business correspondent Dagen McDowell replied that depends on how big your house if, and for Gibson it would probably be cheaper to fly away. Then she dropped the bombshell that airfares in the peak travel week before New Year's may be four to five times higher than last year, due to higher jet fuel prices, lower supply, and heightened demand. As Gibson put it, airlines are going to squeeze people who are taking elective trips to someplace sunny.
It's not much of an issue for those of us who couldn't afford last year's prices anyway, but the happy corporate types who don't know what to do with their latest tax break better get to the travel agent fast. And no whining about class warfare; as Laura Bush says, that's just the way it is.
