No Complaints

Tonight's Hannity & Colmes was almost entirely devoted to the emergency landing of a JetBlue plane at LAX. The rest of the show was about Hurricane Rita. Yes, I could say that there were more important stories to focus on, such as Chairman of the Judiciary Arlen Specter's charge that the Pentagon has blocked the Senate's Able Danger investigation or the IMF's warning that the United States' rapidly rising foreign indebtedness is at the heart of dangerous global imbalances. But, flying-hater that I am, I was suckered into the story from the beginning and couldn't leave the TV until the plane had landed safely. For once, Sean Hannity didn't mention the unused buses in New Orleans or the Democrats politicization of anything.
I'm sure it won't be long until Sean whips out some talking points about Texas' response to Rita proving that all the blame in Katrina is due to the Louisiana local officials. He'll be sure to repeat them endlessly. But Rita hasn't hit Texas yet and I see no reason not to appreciate the calm before the storm.
