CYA - Or How I Learned To Stop Fretting About The Last Storm and Got Ready For This One

Reported by Donna - September 21, 2005

On Studio B with Shepard Smith today, the message went out loud and clear -- the Federal Government is really, really, prepared for Hurricane Rita.

Shepard Smith spoke with Fox's Steve Centanni about how prepared the president was for this hurricane. Centanni said, "With Hurricane Rita bearing down on the Gulf Coast, the Bush Administration is determined to respond quickly and avoid the beating it took in the wake of Katrina."

Translation? The Bush Administration knows they blew it when it came to Katrina, this is their chance to make it up so they don't take the 'beating' again.

Comment: The Hurricane's are always framed on Fox in how they affect the Bush Administration. Fox's message all during the hour was to tell us how well prepared they were, we heard from the acting Director of Fema, Homeland Security Secretary, Michael Chertoff and even President Bush, himself."

President Bush's message? "We hope and pray that Hurricane Rita will not be a devastating storm, but we gotta be ready for the worst."

Maybe one of his assistant's can turn on a tv this time and see that Hurricane Rita is now a category 5, and, yes, it will be a devastating storm.
