Fox Giggles About Bush's Potty Break Note
Reported by Melanie - September 18, 2005
Saturday (September 17, 2005) night on Fox News Watch, host Eric Burns brought up the note George Bush wrote while at the UN last week about needing a potty break. Burns trivialized the issue and the panelists giggled as they discussed it.
Burns opened with, "Is this news? Doesn't it lend credence to critics who say we are so concerned with trivia?"
Cal Thomas said it was a, "silly, superficial, stupid thing" to have received so much attention.
Jane Wells said, "The idea that the President also needs to go to the bathroom, I suppose, is of interest."
Neal Gabler said, "The Sunday London Times [owned by Rupert Murdoch, by the way] consulted a urologist about this. I think that would be the height of it all."
Comment: If the President of the United States isn't savvy enough on his own to discreetly rise and go to the restroom without first passing a note to one of his handlers asking for permission, we're screwed, and it isn't funny!
