On John Gibson's Big Story today 9/13/05, he conducted his "Your Word" segment where he reads emails from viewers. One of the emailers referred to Gibson's "My Word" segment from last Tuesday, wherein he recommended that Bush fire someone (specifically Mike Brown) and said "I've been fired a few times. It's not the end of the world.".
The writer said the whole world wants to know, why did you get fired way back when? Gibson replied, over background laughter, "The president of the network hated me; that will pretty much do it."
Comment: I seem to recall comics where kids say that's why the teacher failed them, too. Somehow in this case it seems believeable.
