Michael Brown "Blames the Press" for his Troubles

Reported by Melanie - September 9, 2005

Every day, in the opening seconds of Your World, Neil Cavuto strings together a list of the top three or four topics he intends to cover. Fox usually adds a bit of video or a graphic to highlight each topic. Today (September 9, 2005), Cavuto's list of topics began like this: "Well, the FEMA fallout. Director Michael Brown removed from the Katrina relief efforts. He blames the press, not the President." As Cavuto spoke, Fox aired a few seconds of video showing Brown standing next to George Bush. The words "FEMA Fallout" were printed at the bottom of the screen.

Comment: As the program progressed, I waited for a segment about Brown blaming the press (I thought Republicans were too busy to "play the blame game"), but it never came. I guess Cavuto just wanted to plant that thought.
