Be Assured: President Bush Mixes With ALL Types Of People
Reported by Donna - September 5, 2005
On Studio B today Gregg Jarrett filled in for Shepard Smith and after stating that President Bush made his second (his emphasis) trip to the Louisiana region in four days to leave a 'message of hope' amid a barrage of criticism. He quickly went to Bill Hemmer who was live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Hemmer then picked up the theme and repeated for a second time that the president was in the region for the second time in four days. (my emphasis)
Hemmer continued and said that the president's trip to Baton Rouge included a visit to a large evacuation center that a local church group had set up for thousands of people.
Hemmer then said that the president was mixing with children there. He was mixing with people of all ages and all types, including pregnant women lying on cots looking for shelter and help along the way.
As Hemmer was speaking, Fox cut to video of the president with a group of African Americans around him.
Comments: Quick, get the message out - the president mixes with all types of people, including African Americans. This was one of the lead stories on Fox after Jarrett informed us that the mayor of New Orleans said there may be as many as 10,000 dead. Why was it so important to get this message out about the president mixing with all types of people in one of their top stories?
Looks like it didn't take long for Hemmer to get in lock step.
