The Twittys Invade FNL

Reported by Nancy - August 26, 2005 -

Today on FNL, Bob Sellers anchored the last hour. As usual, the Friday edition of the program was heavy on the fluff & light on the hard news. Unfortunately, this meant an ALERT for a Beth & Jug Twitty "press conference", to which FNL -- which has been relatively & blessedly Holloway-free over the past month or so -- devoted not only an ALERT but 4 minutes of coverage.

At 12:09pm (EDT) there was an ALERT & Sellers said "Let's listen to Beth Twitty." FNL went live to Beth & Jug Twitty making a statement about a fundraiser in Alabama last night & how glad they were to be home for a while. Their statements were followed by a Q&A session (those asking the questions were neither shown nor identified; the camera remained firmly fixed on the Twittys). FNL stayed with this live until 12:12pm, at which point Sellers recapped recent developments in the case & plugged further "coverage" of the case on Greta Van Susteren's program tonight

Comment: This is NOT the "hard news" that FNL claims to present.

NOTE TO READERS: Please stay on topic (FNL's choice to replace hard news with an ALERT for 2 people talking about a fundraiser that's already been held & how glad they are to be home). O/T comments -- especially glurge about Natalee Holloway -- will be deleted. Thanks.
