Looks Like Things are Going to Hell in Afghanistan Too

I just updated our War Dead & Injured post, as I do every weekend, and I noticed the dramatically increased death toll amongst our troops in Afghanistan. In 2001, 12 US troops died; in 2002, 42; in 2003, 47, and in the first eight months of this year, 74 US troops died there.
We don't hear much about Afghanistan these days but maybe we should. If the death toll is rising this dramatically, something must be terribly wrong.
