Fox News Watch: A Fox Watching the Hen House
Reported by Melanie - August 21, 2005
Saturday night (August 20, 2005) on Fox News Watch, one of the "Quick Take" segments was titled "Painful Conflict." It was about a Dr. Paul Nemiroff who comments on medical issues for station KDKA in Pittsburgh, PA, and who also sells "Joint Formula 88" on the QVC network. Fox expressed outrage, saying Nemiroff had a real "credibility problem."
Cal Thomas, a regular panelist on the show, said "We have a clause in our contract here at Fox, I don't know what it is at KDKA, that you can't do stuff like this." He added, "I think it's a good thing to have."
Comment: Oh yeah? Fox News "contributor and guest host" Mike Gallagher organized and staged an anti-Cindy Sheehan rally in Crawford, Texas last weekend. Surely Gallagher signed one of those contracts Thomas talked about - the one that says "you can't do stuff like this," because it might create a "painful conflict" that results in a "credibility problem." So, yo, Fox "News Watch," where's your outrage about that, huh?
