Tabloid Overkill On Fox News Could Backfire

Reported by Deborah - August 12, 2005

Natalee Holloway, Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson and Runaway Bride are some of the tabloid stories that have been covered non stop on Fox News. As long as the ratings are high, Fox will find ways to keep an exhausted story going. Of course, there's an added benefit of using these stories to divert attention from the bad news surrounding their President.

The Natalee Holloway Story has put Greta Van Susteran up there with the big guys, Hannity & Colmes and Bill O'Reilly. In fact, Greta has even beat ratings king, Bill O'Reilly a few times prompting him to devote half of his show to Aruba. Here's an interesting article from Newsday on this subject.
