Fox: The Bush Administration Press Secretary
Reported by Janie - August 12, 2005
Throughout the week, there have been many important developments that have not warranted much air time, or have not been covered at all on Dayside, including Cindy Sheehan, the CIA leak investigation, and many, many others.
Yet, on both 8/9 and 8/11, a large chunk of these shows have been dedicated to airing the press conferences of Donald Rumsfeld and George Bush.
On 8/9, almost the entire press briefing given by Donald Rumsfeld was aired, as well as Bush's press conference welcoming home the astronauts.
On 8/11, the entire foreign policy press conference given by George Bush was aired.
On all three occasions, the briefings were played virtually in their entirety, without comment or analysis from the host(s) of Dayside.
Comment: With so many important topics and issues that have cropped up this week (many Fox simply wishes to ignore) is it truly prudent for Fox to air all of these press briefings in their entirety, without even making a comment, or an analysis of what was said during these briefings? They would rather allow the current administration to have their views expressed without interuption, comment, or dissent.
