Mixed Message For William Rehnquist

During the Ups and Downs segment of Beltway Boys yesterday,7/16, William Rehnquist's announcement that he was not retiring was given an UP by Mort Kondracke and Fred Barnes but their conversation sent another message.

Kondaracke expressed frustration that Rehnquist didn't announce his decision in June. Fred Barnes discussed the recent poll claiming that 66% would like a mandatory retirement age for Supreme Court Judges.

Comment: Maybe William Rehnquist decided to stay on just to annoy the vultures speculating and salivating over a vacancy left by his retirement.
