Roger Mosey Was Not Hiding From Bill O'Reilly

Reported by Deborah - July 16, 2005

On Wednesday, 7/13/05, Bill O'Reilly had some choice words for Roger Mosey, Head of Television News, BBC. O'Reilly claimed that Mosey was too afraid to appear and took refuge in the "loo". Michelle Malkin found Bill's joke quite amusing and the pair spent the entire segment tearing up Roger Mosey and the BBC.

Today Roger Mosey sent the News Hounds an e-mail responding to O'Reilly's on-air behavior which he said we could share with our readers.

Roger Mosey to me 9:55 am (7 hours ago)

Hi --- just to say I read your site with interest about Bill O'Reilly's further comments.

For the record, Bill didn't call me. One of his production staff called the BBC Press Office. They said I was unavailable on the night of the broadcast and the reason was this. I was going with some BBC colleagues to "Summer Swing at Kew" - an evening concert in London's Kew Gardens at which we'd enjoy a beautiful location and some great music with fellow Londoners. We also, I confess, had a bottle or two of wine sitting out on the lawns. So it was a choice between that and getting ready to appear on Fox News after their perpetuation of insults to the BBC and to its millions of viewers and listeners worldwide. So no contest, I think you'll agree?

I'm happy for you to use this information.

Best wishes

(Roger Mosey, Head of Television News, BBC)

comment: The News Hounds want to thank Roger Mosey for taking the time to respond to Bill O'Reilly's inappropriate and dishonest behavior.
This kind of attack shouldn't be ignored and we hope that anyone who has been treated badly by Fox News will contact us with their story.
