Oliver Stone Gets Two Thumbs Down

Reported by Deborah - July 16, 2005

Oliver Stone will be doing a movie about 9/11 and John Kasich was not happy to hear the news. James Hirsen, author of Hollywood Nation, agreed with Kasich that Stone was a poor choice while John O'Neill defended the choice.

James Hirsen, a devout enemy of the movie industry, had this comment about Stone.
"Spent too much time on the grassy knoll with a tin-foil hat."
Hirsen was referring to Stone's movie, JFK.

John O'Neill thought Stone was a good choice because he is a real artist who takes chances that can really work. O'Neill tried to stress that the movie isn't political and will concentrate on the last survivors under the stone slabs.

Kasich just seemed perplexed that Stone was chosen for a 9/11 movie claiming that his pick would have been Ron Howard.

comment: Looks like Oliver Stone will be recieving some heat from Fox for awhile. The Tom Cruise story is running out of steam and Fox always likes an example of the wicked "Hollywood Elite" to display for their virtuous base audience.
