O'Reilly Hammers BBC & Britain
Reported by Deborah - July 14, 2005
The BBC decided to substitute the word "bomber" for "terrorist" in their coverage of the 7/7 attacks in London. Bill didn't like this move by the BBC so he invited Roger Mosey, BBC News Head, to come on the factor for a segment called Sanitizing Terror. Predictably, Mosey declined, giving O'Reilly the opportunity to play big bully for his viewers.
" I called Mosey. He's afraid. They told me he locked himself in the loo."
O'Reilly explained to viewers that it was Mosey's fault that the segment would not be fair and balanced forcing Michelle Malkin to appear alone to take on the BBC. 7/13/05
Malkin was ready for attack. She claimed that the BBC has as much credibility as the Daily Show calling it "unfair, unbalanced and unreliable. Malkin ridiculed the BBC for being "high minded" and O'Reilly made fun of them for wanting to foster understanding.
O'Reilly continued his attack on Mosey claiming that the Guardian had printed a reply to the criticism and it's "far, far, left".Then he accused the BBC of soft pedaling terrorism.
Malkin expressed dismay over the " disease of moral equivalence bringing up Dick Durbin as her example.
"The left and far left can't identify evil for what it is."
Comment: Maybe it's time O'Reilly and Malkin tried to understand the British people. Why must the entire world see things from our perspective? Is it so unreasonable for the BBC to be sensitive?
