Damn Right We Got Mad, John Gibson
Reported by Judy - July 13, 2005
John Gibson tried to act surprised Wednesday (July 13, 2005) at the depth of reaction to his stupid "My Word" segment from Tuesday saying Karl Rove should get a medal for revealing the identity of a CIA undercover agent.
"Boy, a few of you got really mad," Gibson said, opening up his "My Word" segment. Gibson gave a brief overview of his belief that Rove, who committed treason by revealing national secrets, should get a medal instead of a prison sentence. He also noted that the Wall Street Journal agrees with him.
Then Gibson proceeded to read a few of the emails he said he got from "the horrified left." Somebody criticized his haircut. Somebody called him an "asshole," but Gibson blanked it out. Somebody else said Rove deserved a prison uniform instead of a medal. Somebody else wrote in Chinese.
Nobody at all mentioned that Gibson has been put in the News Hounds' Dog House. If there was an insult that was worthy of mentioning, surely that is it, but Big John totally ignored his incarceration.
In fact, he dismissed all his critics with, "I tell the truth on 'My Word.'... If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."
Don't worry Big John. We plan on making it pretty hot for you.
Usually, Gibson's My Word is posted on Fox News' web site soon after his show ends, but that was not the case today. I guess having to write two "My Word" segments in one week responding to his critics was getting too embarrassing.
On Monday, he had to do some explaining about his "they'll blow up Paris and who cares" remark. In that case, he said he had made the comment "perhaps rashly" and that he really would be sorry if they blew up Paris.
All I know is, if Gibson's got to explain, he's in trouble.
