A "NUKULER" Bush Photo-Op!
Reported by Nancy - June 22, 2005 -
On FNL today (6/22), Brigitte Quinn did her usual swooning intro & Wendell Goler channelled Scott McClellan to describe Bush's photo-op du jour -- a visit to a NUKULER power plant in Maryland.
At 11:17am (EDT) Quinn read teasers, inlcuding: oil prices "head way up" -- "How's the President planning on dealing with that?"
Comment: Apparently, he plans to deal with that by building NUKULER power plants. Read on ...
At 11:33am (EDT) Quinn said that Bush made a "POWERFUL pitch to get his energy bill passed" to intro the report by Goler on Bush's tour of a nuclear plant in MD.
Comments: Goler's report, of course, was complete with a clip of Bush saying NUKULER & crowd of idiots cheering him on as he described how NUKULER energy is clean, green, & generally the best thing since sliced bread.
What neither Quinn nor Goler mentioned is that the energy bill's attempt to require US industries to cut carbon dioxide emissions as a way to address global warming has been watered down, yet again, after Senator Pete Domenici (R-NM) caved to White House pressure to keep greenhouse gas control programs "voluntary".
NOTE TO READERS: Please stay on topic (FNL's coverage of this NUKULER photo op, Bush's so-called "energy plan"). O/T comments will be deleted. Thanks.
