Outrage of the Week: Gov. Jeb Bush Wants to Reopen the Schiavo Case

Reported by Marie Therese - June 17, 2005

Ken Connor is a past president of the Family Research Council, an extreme right-wing religious organization. He also co-authored Sinful Silence and was the lead attorney for Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in defending "Terris's Law." During an interview with substitute host Martha McCallum, Connor announced on tonight's On the Record that Governor Jeb Bush wants to reopen the Terri Schiavo case.

To paraphrase Lawyer Connor's arguments: 15 years ago there was a 40 minute time lag between Terri's collapse and the 911 call. Therefore, the Governor feels that an investigation is in order in spite of the recent autopsy results and the complete lack of any real evidence against Michael Schiavo. Lawyer Connor, God's ambulance-chaser, denied tonight that Gov. Bush has targeted Mr. Schiavo, but even Martha McCallum seemed to find that answer disingenuous.

I can hardly type this I am so speechless with anger.

Who the hell does Jeb Bush think he is?

What makes the Schindlers so special that the entire Congress had to assemble and vote on their behalf?

Why is the Governor of the sovereign state of Florida frantically dancing to their tune?

Who are these people anyway?

Surely we all know of families in distress who'd like a tiny fraction of the attention that these deluded and obsessed white people have garnered in the past six months.

I am sick to death of the Schindlers and their family psychosis.

In my opinion, Bob Schindler is a money-grubbing manipulator and Mrs. Schindler is a sick woman who can't face the truth that her daughter died 15 years ago. As far as I'm concerned, these vicious, small-minded little people don't want to let go of the spotlight. And it would seem that Governor Bush is perfectly willing to aid and abet their dysfunctional obsession.

It's time for sane Americans to put a STOP to this grotesque farce.

If you agree with me, here is the contact information for Governor Bush.

Tell him that you are fed up and that it's time to let Terri Schiavo rest in peace and to stop persecuting her husband based on nothing but gossamer fancies and parental delusion! Then pass on the information to other like-minded Americans.
