Neil Cavuto and Class Warfare
Reported by Melanie - June 9, 2005
On Monday, Fox's "business news" anchor, Neil Cavuto, referred to poor people as the "worse half." On Wednesday, he delivered a "Common Sense" editorial titled Eat the Rich?, in which he implied that our country would collapse without the rich, their "largesse," their "ingenuity," and their "private sector smarts."
Comment: Here we have corporate media advocating on behalf of the tiny group of Americans who are rich, and demeaning and pigeonholing the poor, of which there are millions. As health care costs rise and pensions evaporate, the ranks of the poor increase every day. Looks like the airwaves we citizens own are being used against us in new, ever more Orwellian ways.
