The Shocking Story: Neil Cavuto and Jane Fonda
Reported by Melanie - May 23, 2005
On April 14, 2005, Neil Cavuto, the host of Fox's weekday "business news" show, Your World w/Neil Cavuto, dove into the gutter and compared the sales rank of Jack Welsh's book, Winning, to the sales rank of Jane Fonda's book, My Life So Far. The two books are wildly different so I thought the comparison was unfair, inappropriate, and done for purely political purposes. Nonetheless, Cavuto reveled in the fact that, "Sources say that Jack's book is ahead by about 8,000 copies."
Well now, it just so happens that Cavuto has a book out too. It's called More Than Money and like the books written by so many Fox News personalities, it was published by Fox's parent company, ReganBooks. The book was just released in paperback, and Cavuto promotes it nearly every day at the end of his show, occasionally going so far as to give the internet address where it can be purchased.
For the heck of it, I thought I'd compare Cavuto's sales rank to Jane Fonda's sales rank. Turns out (the numbers change by the minute), Cavuto's book is ranked 25,579, and Fonda's is ranked 93. (Hehe.)
(I don't particularly care about this kind of thing but apparently Neil Cavuto does. As a result, I thought I'd turn the tables and give ol' Neil Boy a taste of his own petty politics.)
