Real News On Alan Colmes Show
Reported by Ellen - May 20, 2005
There was a welcome respite from the fake Fox news last night on The Alan Colmes show. Topics covered were the United Airlines pension default, Senator Rick Santorum's statement comparing Democrats to Hitler and Senator Charles Schumer's confrontation with Senator Bill Frist over Frist's filibuster of Clinton nominee Judge Richard Paez. Funny how you can't find these topics on FOXNews.com.
Also included on the show was an interview with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. What a refreshing change from the almost daily diet of radical right-wingers that we listeners have been fed lately. Surprisingly, Pelosi talked about her friendship with Tom DeLay and said that she would not judge him before an ethics investigation has been concluded. She also praised Howard Dean but said she agreed with Rep. Barney Frank who called Dean's comments about DeLay "inappropriate."
Colmes asked her why she had voted for the appropriations for the Iraq war which she has criticized. She answered that she has criticized the war plenty but that our troops need and deserve the funds (no mention of all the dough going elsewhere, though).
Hardly a loony leftie, huh?
