Greg Palast Talks About Impeachment
Reported by Ellen - May 10, 2005
After interviewing the world's wackiest assortment of right-wing radicals, Alan Colmes finally hosted someone from the other side of the political spectrum last night. His guest was BBC's investigative journalist Greg Palast who discussed a secret memo purportedly showing that Bush "fixed the facts" about Iraq in order to justify invasion. It was a treat to hear some real news on FOX for a change - instead of another missing white female so over-covered on yesterday's Big Story.
Unfortunately, I missed the first half-hour of the program but I surmised that Palast was the guest for the full hour. In his view, the memo, which can be read on his website, "has 'IMPEACH HIM' all over it." On Colmes' show, Palast spoke about how this memo proved that Bush "fixed the intelligence" around his desire to invade Iraq. He also pointed out that while the Republicans and the mainstream media focused so intently upon Bill Clinton's cigar and the stained blue dress, there has been hardly any coverage of the far-more damning evidence in this memo uncovered by The Times of London.
Kudos to Alan Colmes for not only airing the story but giving it the healthy dose of time it deserves.
