Conservative Death Squad Targets Hillary

Reported by Deborah - May 3, 2005

Peter Paul, now a convicted felon in federal custody, was a large contributor to Hillary Clinton's Senate campaign in 2000 but turned against the Clintons after Bill Clinton refused to invest in Paul's business venture. Tonight Peter Paul appeared on H&C supposedly to present evidence to Hannity that would incriminate Senator Clinton and ruin her chances for re-election in 2006 and the nomination in 2008. No surprise that Peter Paul is hooked up with a conservative organization called Justice Foundation that just launched their website with the single purpose of raising money to bring Hillary down.

According to Peter Paul, there was a fundraiser given for Clinton in 2000 that was reported by the Clinton Campaign to cost $800,000.
but really cost 2 million. Paul has tried to take the Clinton's to court but the New York Times reported this week that much of the case has been thrown out. Paul's explanation of the case was unclear but he kept repeating that the Clinton's induced him into giving money. He also stated that " the Clintons took two million dollars and hid it."

When Colmes confronted him about his alliance with a conservative group to oust Hillary, Paul got defensive pretending he was a Democrat. Colmes came back at him with a quote where he said that he couldn't care less about electing Hillary. Paul quickly agreed that he never had any political interest in Hillary then almost shouting said, "I'm still responsible for her winning!"

The article in the New York Times noted that Paul's legal troubles started in the 70's and his record is rather spotty. Also the conservative group Judicial Watch was aligned with Paul and his group until a few months ago when they quickly severed ties. Hannity, who would love to bring Hillary to her knees, seemed skeptical and cautious in his questioning of Paul indicating that even he has major doubts.

Comment: True this guy Peter Paul is not someone the public could trust but who could trust Paul O'Neill when he first started his vendetta. There seems to be a lot of money behind this campaign and it would be wise not to underestimate their power. However, the Clintons are loved and respected and the people are no longer as gullible. We'll have to wait and see on this one.
