Hannity's Lie About Filibuster Exposed

Reported by Deborah - April 25, 2005

Throughout this battle over the judicial nominations, Hannity and guests have spouted the same talking point over and over that never before in 200 years has the filibuster been used to block judicial nominees.Tonight on H&C, Hannity and Dr. Richard Land used it again with tones of disbelief and outrage that Democrats could do such a thing. When Reverend Bob Edgar, National Council of Churches, stated that Frist filibustered one of Clinton's nominees Hannity arrogantly balked that it never happened. It seems that either Hannity did no research or he flat out lied to viewers.4/25/05

Land, realizing that he had been exposed changed his statement saying that never had Appeals Court nominees been blocked by filibuster. Colmes corrected Land revealing the facts that Bill Frist had filibustered Clinton nominee, Richard Paez delaying the process for four years which is a record amount of time and Paez was an Appeal Court nominee.

Colmes and Edgar went on to discuss the campaign to label any opposition as anti american and anti faith. Land continued his lies denying that anything like that had ever been said acting all outraged claiming that Tony Perkins said just the opposite before their propaganda show last night.

comment: It seems like anything goes in Hannity's world and once that line is crossed there is no going back. Just another lie and right now Hannity probably couldn't care less that he was exposed. Why should he care, if nobody will call him on it.Hannity gets away with it all unlike Dan Rather just one of the people that Hannity has buried.
