Shepard Smith's Zingers Today
Reported by Donna - April 20, 2005
While Shepard Smith doesn't supply the great copy that O'Reilly or Hannity might, sometimes he comes through with some zingers that make you think, is he 'really' a Fox company man?
An example of some of his zingers today:
On a story about the hearings of John Bolton:
"Some of President Bush's political allies are expressing some doubt on his pick for UN Ambassador, and that may be my understatement of the day."
On a story about 'federalizing' commercial trucker's drivers licenses:
(Paraphrased)Blue collar guys, charge them more, the little guy.
"When are they just gonna line us all up, take samples of our blood, create DNA databases for every single human being in this country, and quit pretending that that's not what they are trying to do?"
"Let's be straight about it. Here comes a blue collar guy, let's get him."
I'm not sure what got into Smith today. He's normally exuberant, but not usually to this point. He was actually sarcastic about the opposition to Bolton's appointment and he genuinely seemed concerned about 'blue collar' workers. We, at News Hounds, give credit when credit is due but it makes you wonder....is Shepard Smith long for Fox News?
