Brave New World Of Extremists

Reported by Deborah - April 11, 2005

Hillary Rodham Clinton spoke up about the extreme right wing influence taking over the Republican party referring to "A brave new world of extremists." Hannity complained about her "shrill" rhetoric to Jerry Brown on H&C tonight but then Hannity pretended not to understand her charges of extremism asking throughout the segment in disbelief "Who are we talking about?" adding that Democrats are against every Republican.4/11/05

Jerry Brown did not back down or gloss over the issue tonight with Hannity. Brown talked about this administration running over the 50% that did not vote for Bush reminding Hannity that Bush won with a very small margin.

Colmes and Brown talked about Karl Rove and Tom DeLay mentioning this quote from Rove.
" Dumb as they are Democrats catch on quick."

Then Colmes referenced a poll which asked people if they thought Hillary Clinton was liberal, moderate or conservative.
43% liberal
34% moderate
8% conservative
This of course took away Hannity's ability to frame Senator Clinton as an extreme left winger as Dick Morris often tries to do on H&C.

Comment: Hannity seemed to try a new routine tonight. He's probably noticed a recent change in his Democratic guests who seem less likely to roll over when Hannity does his hate radio attacks. So tonight he just acted as if all the Democrats are irrationally accusing Republicans of being extremists because they just don't want to support anyone in the party.
