"Culture of Life" obsessed with death
Reported by Chrish - April 1, 2005
Today's Special Report 4/1/05, with Chris Wallace subbing for Brit Hume, only strayed from the story of the Pope's impending death for a few minutes to cast aspersion on the judicial systems in this country and to rehash Sandy Berger's crime.
There was a three minute segment on going after the "activist judiciary" (seperate post), three minutes about Sandy Berger's guilty plea to misdemeanor charges, and that's all. The balance of the hour was interviews and commentaries and roundtables and opinions and biographical info about the Pope.
Comment: No disrespect intended, but I'd venture to say that many if not most people are not all that interested in this minute-by-minute coverage. The networks are all so afraid of being "scooped", like that means anything in these circumstances, that they blow off the rest of the world to make sure they don't "miss" the exact moment. This weekend is going to be a good time to do some spring cleaning or yardwork.
