Pat Robertson Claims Dr. William Hammesfahr WON a Nobel Prize

Reported by Melanie - March 31, 2005

During an interview today (March 31, 2005) on Your World w/Neil Cavuto, the Rev. Pat Robertson falsely stated that Dr. William Hammesfahr, a Florida physician who examined Terri Schiavo and claimed Schiavo would improve under his care, is "a noted Nobel Prize winning neurologist."

Comment: William Hammesfahr has never won a Nobel Prize. As a matter of fact, Hammesfahr has never even been nominated for a Nobel Prize.

Robertson's assertion that Hammesfahr is "a noted" neurologist is dubious as well given the disciplinary action taken against him in 2003 by the Florida Board of Medicine.

I look forward to Friday's Your World w/Neil Cavuto when I expect the professionals (wink, wink) at Fox News will make it clear that Rev. Robertson was mistaken.
