On March 29, 2005, Paul Krugman wrote a New York Times Op-Ed piece titled, "What's Going On?" It began with:
Democratic societies have a hard time dealing with extremists in their midst. The desire to show respect for other people's beliefs all too easily turns into denial: nobody wants to talk about the threat posed by those whose beliefs include contempt for democracy itself.

News hounds: The Republicans have a million guns and a million clips. So if you keep this site up, you will have hell to pay.
Conservatives had a billion guns and a billion clips and we own America.
Democrats keep your trap shut, or you will get blown up.
Comment: We're "fighting the terrorists" in Iraq so we "don't have to fight them here," right? That's what I thought too.
