Fox News Cozies Up to Terri Schiavo's "Dad"

Reported by Melanie - March 30, 2005

Julie Banderas reported from Pinellas Park, Florida on the Terri Schiavo case today (March 30, 2005) during Your World w/Neil Cavuto. During her report, banners at the bottom of the screen relayed Schiavo's condition as reported this morning by her father ("weak," "struggling"). In the banners, Fox repeatedly referred to Robert Schindler as "Terri's dad."

Comment: Fox's bias is showing. It isn't fair (or balanced) for Fox to refer to Robert Schindler as "Terri's dad," and then to refer to Michael Schiavo simply as "Michael Schiavo." All references to all the parties should be made in the same way. If Robert Schindler is "Terri's dad," then Michael Schiavo is "Terri's hubby."
