FOX Foists A Conservative Host On Its Purportedly Liberal Show
Reported by Ellen - March 17, 2005
If there's one thing I can congratulate FOX News about, it's their unmitigated audacity at all times. Nothing exemplifies that more than the gall to place Eric "Oil-for-Food" Shawn as a guest host for Alan Colmes on FOX News Live with Alan Colmes. In a three hour show that is marketed as a liberal program, the topics were Scott Peterson's death sentence, an hour-long U.N. bash in which Shawn repeatedly compared the U.N. to the Mafia, and a discussion about Social Security with James Roosevelt, Jr., FDR's grandson, in which Shawn made it clear he supports the "liberty" of privatized accounts.
Comment: FOX News markets this show on the liberal talk stations on XM Satellite and Sirius. If you agree with me that FOX has an obligation to broadcast a liberal show that it markets as a liberal show, then let XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Radio know that a liberal talk show requires liberal talk.
