Today On Capitol Hill

Reported by Deborah - March 16, 2005

A big swooshy headline Democrats Blow Their Tops was one of the promos for this very short segment about one of today's major political events. After 40 minutes of trial talk, the press conference and rally with Democrats and Moveon.org on Capitol Hill was discussed with Hannity, Michael Reagan, Bob Beckel and Steve Murphy for about 5 minutes.

Any time Democrats speak out, Hannity uses the same strategy making
the Dems seem like out of control wackos. Today he was able to add the Moveon.org lie about the comparison of Hitler and Bush on their website which, as most of you must know, never happened.A video clip was shown of Barbara Boxer, Hillary Clinton, Chuck Shumer and Ted Kennedy speaking out with the brave conviction of people not about to back down.

Hannity told Michael Reagan that they were "angry and unhinged". Michael Reagan responded with, "The American Bar Association approved all the judges. All lies! Democrats need to grow up."

When Beckel and Murphy joined in with some facts and realities but Reagan tried to avoid the facts by calling them lies and harping on the line about the Bar Association approval.Beckel asked him if Dems should just approve them even if they are not qualified?

comment:Hannity and Reagan are always weak and ineffective but tonight the spin was total garbage. I got the feeling that Hannity was trying to avoid the issue completely. In fact, his show lately has had so much tabloid trial stuff, it's pretty obvious that there's an avoidance issue.
