Studio B Reports - Bush Concerned about Freedom of the Press in Russia
Reported by Ellen - February 23, 2005
On Studio B, there was a sound clip of President Bush today in Germany. He had just arrived in Slovakia and they reported that even though he was going to meet with Slovakian representatives, his big meeting was going to be with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
It was reported that earlier today, the president sat down for a roundtable session with German young people in a preview of some of the markers he would be putting down with Presdient Putin.
President Bush: I've got a close relationship with Vladimir on a personal basis, I, uh, I expressed some concerns about some of the, some of the decisions, such as freedom of the press, that our mutual friend has made and I look forward to talking to him about his decision making process.
Comment: President Bush is concerned about Russia's freedom of the press? Wouldn't you like to sit in on this one? Wouldn't you like to tell President Putin about Fox News? Or maybe that's where he's gotten his 'decision making' for Russia's press from. Or maybe President Bush needs some new ideas?
