FOX Reporter Eric Shawn Mischaracterizes Democratic Outcry and Overlooks Bush Misstatement

Substituting for Alan Colmes on his FOX News radio program last night, Eric Shawn said that Democrats booed George Bush during his State of the Union speech last night. In fact, Democrats were shouting "No" when Bush made the false claim that "By the year 2042, the entire (Social Security) system would be exhausted and bankrupt." In fact, Social Security can pay 72% of its benefits in 2043 without using general funds.

There was a lot of discussion about the Democrats' response and virtually no discussion about the fact that Bush made a false claim in his speech. Fair and Balanced? I don't think so.
