Shepard Smith Says Stay in the Green Zone

Shepard Smith was reporting live from Baghdad in the Green Zone yesterday (1/24/05). He spoke briefly about a bomb he could hear that went off earlier. At 3:32 pm EST, Shepard stated that he could 'hear' gunfire. He said he was assured by others that this is a 'common' occurrance inside the Green Zone. Shepard went on to say that he has been told that "to go outside the Green Zone is just not a smart thing."
Comment: Is Shepard telling the Iraqi people to cast all of their votes 'inside' the Green Zone? Iraq doesn't sound like a safe place to be holding an election next week. But Smith didn't seem to think the danger to the Iraqis was worth mentioning.
